Q2 How does your media product represent particular social groups?

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

I have represented the social group affixed to my magazine as young and ‘ready to party’. On my double page spread the way the model talks when he is being interviewed is that everyone who reads the magazine loves clubbing.  I have also represented them as fashionable due to the costume the models wear in the photos. The use of bright colours such as purple and pink represents the group as vibrant. The camera angle portrays the group as dominant and big because it views one of the models from a low angle. The lighting makes the model on the front page stand out from the background. Also the model looks straight at the camera which is inviting the group t o buy the magazine.

The attitude that comes across from the model’s pose on the front cover is that the group has a laid back approach. For example his bpdy langauage (his arms are folded). This comes across that he is very laid back and doesn’t care about most thngs. This is also seen as a persona that this group would like to achieve.
